On going to Cornwall in winter...

On the plus side: we got to spend Solstice there and Tintagel has no tourists in it, making life (and parking) simple..

However, wind and rain make the castle and anywhere near the edge of a cliff a bad place to go and Fog has a tendency to be rather thick, making driving anywhere..interesting..especially when Slaughter Bridge and many tiny back roads are between you and where you are trying to get to.

It was, however, a rather excellent week, marred only by the annoying Military evilness of Thursday and the bizzare owners of the cottage we rented. Much Mead was consumed and some rather wonderful Elderflower wine, company was good, and Dave allowed us to nag him into running Pendragon. Which is always good. :-)

The light show in King Arthur's Halls is the cheapest ever, but worth going to see for that reason alone.

Next year we plan to brave the tourists, so that evil work will have less chance of preventing Rob coming with us. It may also mean we're brave enough to go near cliff edges. :-)
