Jan. 6th, 2004 04:33 pmWork has just become...well, interesting is probably the word.
Our photography manager (Chris,my kinda boss) used to be photography and sales manager, until the sales team went into rebellion and that part of the job got taken off him. He's very unpopular with the photographers as he's more than a bit patronising to them, and I have to spend a lot of time calming them down.
Today, our office manager/newest company director (Dani) was trying to find out what had happened to some photos that should have been on the site before the holidays, when they might have made us a fair amount of money. They're not that relevant now, but still. Had to admit to being puzzled by this, as I remembered giving the CD to Chris to edit. It wasn't on his desk, not was it in the IT room.
Found it. In a box. Under his desk. With a load of apparently unedited CDs, including one that we could have made loads from in the run-up to the xmas chart, but that's really rather useless now. We'll put the stuff on the site, as it's not fair on the photographers otherwise, but it's unlikely we'll sell them much. The other agencies will have had them out too quickly.
Considering that Chris has had half his original job taken off him because of complaints from the sales team that he had no clue, and coupled with the complaints about him from photographers and the emphasis that is currently being placed on making sure that we get things on the site and out to clients fast...
Ouch. I'd hate to be him...
