And the birds sing on the first day of the reign of Mayor Pillock. So, what magic do you think he'll work, oh people who voted for him?

Will the C Charge vanish? No. Doubt anything will change there.

Will the Olympics become cheaper? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Will transport fares go down? Are you mad?

Routemasters will not magically become wheelchair accessible and fill the streets again. Gold will not pave them. The gang issue will not be solved by hugging or bumbling.

No, we have a racist, homophobic, elitist fuckwad with no clue for a mayor. Well done, London. Well done.

I actually voted for Sian and Ken but.....

But on the other hand Boris was not suspended from his job for being anti-semitic.

As to the others, the only candidate to firmly say they would reduce transport costs was Sian Berry. The Mayor cannot make the Olympics cheaper unless he reduces the GLA share of Council Tax. The Olympic site was significantly held up because the last tenant refused to move. Who was that? Ken and the bendy bus depot.

But Boris is on record as racist, homophobic and ultra elitist.

I know he can't do any of these things. You know he can't do any of these things. However, I'm not sure most of the electorate does, especially given that Boris hasn't exactly been clear on his policies.

Having had a fair bit of contact with Ken's administration, tis not exactly open to all and non elitist!

I think its a pretty damning indictment of Ken that people would prefer to vote for an untested quantity with few policies.

The swing is a reaction against Labour as much as anything else. And I'm sure the previous administration was elitist, I don't really have any great faith in politicians or the administration anyway. Ken has repeatedly won me over with many things, and voting for him is probably the only time you'll find me voting Labour. Being a Green party girl really.

The "celebrity" Boris thing probably didn't help, either.
And I'm still horrified by the 5% BNP vote.

The BNP vote is a useful tool though. As V says,'there is something very wrong with this country' when people feel the BNP is a logical or indeed thwir only choice.

Don't even get me started on that Anti-Semitic thing. Ken did not know the guy was Jewish and he compared him to a Nazi. In other words, the complete opposite from Anti-Semitic. Unless calling someone a Nazi has suddenly become a compliment? Yeah, he should have apologised for offending the guy, but I can also see why he didn't.

There's always been that vote. I'm very concerned at the growth, though.
