I am about to go into a training session. A 2-3 hour long training session, during which they will be teaching me how to lift things.

3 hours on how to lift boxes.

WHAT.

Please note, the only thing I lift during the course of my working day is my cup. Oh, and the phone receiver.

But do you lift the cup the right way?

Please, she is British! The first thing they teach you when you leave the womb here is how to lift a cup of tea!

They don't teach us, it's genetic. ;-)

Sounds like my company! You wouldn't happen to work for the .co.uk version of a freakishly popular retail .com, would you?

No, for an ISP, herding engineers. Currently we appear to have lost all control and are talking about licking boxes.

Are you being paid? Then don't complain! Seriously, there was a reason I did all the phone training days when I worked for First. A whole day of being paid to do nothing!

I just think it's silly. But it was hilarious. :-)

Haha, what a waste of time. :p But you got paid for it, right? Then all is well! :D

HA! That sounds like the meeting I went to last week where they reviewed our coffee serving policies. (with bagged tea its always double cupped because that water is fugging hot but every other hot drink is not double cupped unless the customer asks)

Three hours on coffee serving. The only redeeming thing was the free food and the fact my store was the only store actually following policies and stuff.
