As my wife said, it was like watching the English Patient with superheroes in it.
I just felt that it dragged on and was in general really boring. Yes, Heath Ledger is excellent as The Joker, but it's a good performance in a hugely disappointing film. It's about an hour too long, unfocused, and in general uneventful. My reaction to the end credits was "thank god, at last".
That being said, most of the people I saw it with had a much more positive opinion of the film as well.
