I see that point, I do. But inside me is a SCIENCE GEEK waiting to be let out, who has always wanted to explore the universe and find alien life and understand dark matter and all of that aned everything else, so although my brain is not wired to really understand this properly, I am still fascinated.

Also, I'm still hoping for Option B. I like Option B.

We'll just go ask the NZ researchers that have a machine that looks just like the Stargate, which is designed to brek through into parallel dimensions. But there is a tiny chance it will destroy the world when they switch it on.

That being said, I was freaked out (being so close in proximity to sassette726 does not help these things) until I read the article in the New Yorker.
