Mmmm, now I want to make apple crumble.....

I remember the disappointment when I smelt cloves in a jar for the first time, I thought they were the actual smell of apples cooking, not a spice....

I've been thinking about it for weeks, but I was at the food festival on the South Bank yesterday, and there was a stall selling Bramley apples.

Of course, I'm out of bloody cinnamon, so I'm using nutmeg and honey instead.

I think this is going to be a cooking autumn.

I have plum crumble in the fridge (and, indeed, my single jar attempt at plum jam, which seems to have come out tasty, if a bit on the runny side) - homemade cooking good :)
