Nov. 1st, 2007 12:23 amWe went to see Control tonight.
Oh my god. I am in awe.
I freely admit that I was a Corbijn fan before I saw the film, but I am still in awe. So damned good, just amazing. And the performances were perfect. Oh my god. Awe.

Did she actually want someone to stand there and say 'Oh, he suffers from depression and mood swings' when it was perfectly obvious to me and I'm sure everyone else watching it? There's only so much you can put in a movie about someone's life, even a life as short as Ian's.
The thing about her review that made me laugh though was the bit where she asks where depressing 70's Manchester was. It's gone love, that's why it was filmed in Macclesfield and Nottingham, it was the closest they could get. What Anton being Dutch has to do with that I don't know, he was perfectly aware what Manchester was like in those days, he even lived on the streets for a while!
